The Petalouda Skeletal Health Association is a non-profit association officially recognized by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the Greek Patients' Association.

Founded in 1999, it is the only recognized association that addresses the public and has as its main goal the provision of information about skeletal health, nutrition, exercise, psychology, prevention and treatment of diseases related to it.

Petalouda has to date developed active activity and work both within the boundaries of Attica and throughout Greece. It maintains an excellent relationship of cooperation with scientific associations dealing with osteoporosis as well as with other University Institutions. In collaboration with the above bodies, it conducts epidemiological and other studies in order to collect and process data on this chronic disease.

Its activity extends to information and counseling through seminars, conferences and informational publications, which analyze important issues of our skeletal health.

As a result of this long-term effort, Petalouda won first place for its outstanding course, among 186 countries, at the World Congress held in Miami, United States, as well as 1st prize among 212 countries for creating the best publicity campaign (Best Media Campaign), at the World Congress of Osteoporosis Associations held in Helsinki, Finland. Finally, Petalouda won the Bronze award at the Healthcare Business Awards for offering 1000 DEXA bone density tests to our fellow citizens nationwide!
